Biosymtec ® Technologies

Telehealth, the most important application of the
Biosymtec Technologies Televisit System.

It is the only Telehealth System that makes the patient feel as though they are right there with their healthcare provider.   Not like trying to manage the visit with a cell phone, tablet or laptop.

There are at least 45 million patients in the U.S. with COPD (emphysema and chronic bronchitis), moderate to severe asthma, bronchiectasis, heart failure and cystic fibrosis.   Nearly two-thirds of COPD hospitalizations are caused by infections,
infections which should have been dealt with sooner.   The patients waited too long.

Our associate, Dr. James A. Wilson, Family Medicine Specialist says, "I almost never prescribed an antiviral drug for influenza, because patients would come into the office too late for the drug to be effective."

Most people also wait too long before using a telehealth system when an illness is developing.

Problem Solved. Here is a product, ideal for those with chronic respiratory conditions, such as COPD and asthma, which will tell patients when it is important to contact their healthcare providers for a televisit.   The Biosymtec Monitor detects respiratory and non-respiratory infections days before symptoms or clinical signs such as a fever.

Used upon waking, the patient on the right placed the dual sensing probes under her tongue, straddling the frenulum, with her lips over the mouthpiece, locating the sensing probes in the precise X, Y and Z planes.   She then pressed a single button on the device.   If an EKG was required, she simply held down the button for a few more seconds.   She then stood, blew hard and long through the monitor.   The Biosymtec AI Algorithm (called Aila™) then analyzed the data obtained, and displayed the results on her monitor.   Today, she sees the orange and red segments on the display and knows she must televisit with her healthcare provider.

And for patients with Heart Failure, and other chronic conditions in which any infection is a serious concern, we have the
Biosymtec Health Monitoring Alarm Clock.
It uses the AI algorithm (Aila™) to predict any impending infection up to two or more days before you experience symptoms or clinical signs such as a fever.

How does it do that? First you apply a comfortable, non-invasive, accurate, wireless thermometer by GreenTEG's CALERA® Research (just as the patient is doing on the right).   That will allow your Health-Monitoring Alarm Clock to monitor you for developing infections.   As long as you wear the wireless thermometer, there is nothing more for you to do.   At the time you have set the alarm to wake you in the morning, the nurse on the display will tell you whether you have to be concerned about an infection and call to schedule a televisit with your provider.

For those who are mostly "homebound" or those who need frequent, more in depth telehealth visits due to a chronic condition, we have the Biosymtec Telekit™ which includes:
  1. A large display screen to see your healthcare provider,
  2. A basic keyboard to answer preloaded health questions in advance of the televisit,
  3. A multi-fuction camera (Camometer™),
  4. Graphing software to record a 50-day history of recorded health data,
  5. A built in cuff-type blood pressure monitor, often needed during televisit exams,
  6. Storage space for the Camometer, an otoscope and a digital stethoscope.

The Biosymtec Camometer is wireless and rechargeable. It includes an HD video camera, an exam light source, a microphone and an IR thermometer.

The Camometer also recharges wirelessly when mounted on the back of the display where it is secured magnetically.

ABOUT

Biosymtec Technologies is a company bent on delivering to those needing to televisit with their healthcare provider or others, an experience that convinces them that they are there, present with the party or parties they are visiting.   The Biosymtec Televisit System will do that.   Contact us.

The AI algorithm (Aila™) used in the Biosymtec Monitor and the Clock is the property of Beiswenger and Associates, Inc. and was created, and the software written by, John Beiswenger.   The algorithm was tested through pre-clinical trials in Hong Kong (5 health clinics), Tianjin China (Tianjin Haihe Hospital), and an IRB Approved Research Study in Pennsylvania at a church community.   The results of all sites were combined and analyzed, and the accuracy of the Algorithm was determined to be: Sensitivity 96.7% and Specificity 96.8% by the study MD.

Final Design and prototyping of the Televisit System, the Biosymtec Monitor, the Biosymtec TeleKit™ and the Biosymtec Health-Monitoring Alarm Clock will be completed by a qualified medical product design firm, an associate of Beiswenger and Associates, Inc.

Applications

The Biosymtec Technologies Televisit System was created to satisfy the rapidly growing applications of televisit technology into many different markets, including, but not limited to, the following.   A provisional patent application has been filed.   Using a cell phone, tablet or laptop to televisit is like trying to talk with someone on the outside through a closed window.   Using the Biosymtec Technologies Televisit System is much more like being there.
